Are you an environmental sustainability specialist passionate about making a positive impact?
Join our team with a 13-month fix-term contract to enable and drive impactful sustainability initiatives so that we can optimise our impact as a firm and protect the planet. As a member of the Internal Sustainability and WorldClimate team you will be a trusted advisor for the business in implementing our Global WorldClimate transformation in Switzerland. You will also be driving us to reach our ambition to become an industry leader in sustainability by consulting the needs of the firm, designing relevant solutions and managing key stakeholders.
How you can make an impact
- Responsible for Deloitte Switzerland WorldClimate transformation including three key pillars:
- Governance and Accountability - governance, risk management etc.
- Net-zero Operations – business travel, procurement, real estate, commuting, pensions, IT, food and events etc.
- People and engagement – employee lifecycle, sustainability champions, advocacy and communications etc.
- You will work in collaboration with our Deloitte North South Europe (NSE) WorldClimate team and network to deliver on these pillars.
- Business travel: Drive the local implementation of our global goal to reduce our business travel emissions by 55% per FTE by 2030 against a 2019 baseline. Working in multi-disciplinary teams with Travel, Finance and Business stakeholders to motivate, monitor and report on business travel reduction. This may involve input into travel policy compliance processes and governance, developing carbon budgets, monthly reporting to senior stakeholders, implementing behaviour change campaigns and firmwide trainings etc.
- Procurement: Lead the local launch and implementation of the NSE Responsible Procurement Policy together with the local procurement team. This includes stakeholder management, integration into key procurement and third-party risk management processes, conduct ongoing reporting on responsible procurement KPIs, internal comms.
- Impact Report: Responsible for writing content and reporting KPIs for key aspects of the Deloitte Switzerland Impact Report within your scope including Responsible Procurement, Business Travel, Employee Lifecycle etc.
- Ecovadis: Key owner of Responsible Procurement section of Ecovadis requirements – ensuring ongoing improvements to better our score.
- Lead and have oversight on various other projects listed in the scope above, notably:
- Ongoing implementation of commuting strategy
- Launch of local food strategy
- Local implementation of circularity strategy
- Sustainability Champions Network
- Sustainable pensions etc.
- Support with the completion of ESG questionnaires coming from our clients and advise client-facing teams on how to integrate sustainability into their work and meet their clients’ needs.
- Maturity matrix: on a quarterly basis, highlight your achievements to the NSE WorldClimate team during the matrix interview.
- Team management: Co-leading 2-3 junior team members on various projects that will also support you on the above and ensure overall alignment with our Swiss priorities.
Who we are looking for
- Energetic and passionate about sustainability
- Previous experience or education in sustainability, particularly in the scope areas above (desired)
- Ability to influence, motivate and present to stakeholders of across all levels of the organisation, including to Executive Committee members, to achieve desired outcomes
- Strong project management skills and ability to work independently
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to connect the dots and spot future trends and opportunities
- Fast learner, who despite not having worked on all topics, is able to grasp new technical topics and effectively work towards solutions
- Flexible and open-minded to changing priorities within the team and the organisation
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills – particularly on PowerPoint, Excel – with the ability to create high quality and impactful deliverables
